Present: Chris P., Brent, Jim, Scott, Julie, Wayne, Gene, Roman, Chris S.
Absent: Doug P.
Issues:
1. Drifter cruise #2 has been moved from Aug 6 (tomorrow) to Aug 12 due to pressure and leakage issues of Mack. If Mack gets fixed, canning will take place next Tuesday.
2. Scott and Roman working to understand how/why pressure gauges moving out of calibration so much. Brent to run check on all machines to see what is going on with other pressure gauges.Scott to give Iridium tracker to Thom Maughin for integration onto Drifter buoy.
3. The patch Brent pushed down to NEO out at M0 is working. It has successfully run through 3 WCR with no evac issues.
4. Brent has been contacted by Ivory; WHOI wants to communicate with their ESP using Iridium. Transferring TIFF's will be very expensive. Should we perform a JPEG conversion? NO. Will got to 4x4 size and stay with TIFF's so data is still available in images.
5. Scott had good idea to build socket for small board for addition of ESD resistors on dwarfs.
6. MOE will get new software next week. Should be ready for science Aug 16.
Notes:
1. As decreed by Don Anderson at WHOI and approve by all involved parties, the first commercial ESP instrument has been renamed ESPChris in honor of Scholin.
2. We will keep Cheri's laptop to run Solidworks, and one of her desktop machines will be reassigned to Roman. All others will be returned to the I.S. pool.
3. Newly ordered D-ESP CTD scheduled to arrive August 30.
4. Meeting next week with Kevin, Brian, Rich, Brent, Chris P, Roman, and Chris S. to discuss start of WHOI-MRI grant and software needed. Date/time still to be determined.
